A Public Service Announcement of Sorts.

When traveling to
and henceforth
arriving at your destination
which is your local plastic surgeon's office to begin the process of your child's cleft repair
do not meet your friend there
who has also adopted a cleft affected kiddo

get out of the car
get the kids out of the car
and then begin chit chatting and walking toward the building.

Because you know what?
You will forget to put change in the meter

and then you wanna know what happens?

This is what happens.

Because even though you like to use big words like
they will still give you a ticket.

upon arriving home with said ticket
do not
I repeat
do not
place it upon your desk that may or may not be slightly unorganized.

Said ticket will get lost in the shuffle
and one month later when you unearth it
and wipe the dust off
you will see that said ticket clearly states that if not paid within 15 days your $25 ticket increases to

This concludes today's PSA.
I hope I have henceforth helped to edukate the public at large.

  1. LOVE IT!!

I also put a ticket on an unorganized desk once. It was a speeding ticket...for driving through a school zone that I did not realize was a school zone. I also forgot about paying the ticket...for 10 months.
I went to renew my license and while holding my 18 month old son, I found out there was a warrant out for my arrest.
I've never forgotten to pay the state on time again. :)

  2. Oh no! I can't stand parking meters anyway! Why can't we just park for free!?!?!?

  3. BTDT. I had to stay out of Boston for months until I got around to paying up.......

  4. Should I be feeling guilty and offer to pay half of the ticket??? Ummm...nope I don't! I'll pay for your lunch some day. It all comes out even in the end. Hugs!

  5. hahahahahahaha- Okay thank you!! You are medicine for the soul friend!!

Can I tell you something else NOT to do! Do NOT get a ticket and then MOVE...
Because "said" ticket will not arrive at new address and THEN HUBBY will be put in handcuffs and taken to police station.... car will be towed and WILL stay there... for however long they decide... seriously!

Wife will need to pick up hubby at police station... she will not be happy ;-(

Then fine will be paid, car will be released, both hubby and wife will think this is totally unfair but... there is NOTHING they can do about it AND life will go on!

So they praise the Lord, they be thankful and they forget the injustices of the world!

    Amen, sista!

  6. Hi Sonia! I just found your blog today. My wife and I live in China and we foster three orphans with the hope of adopting our first foster girl. Thank you for your heart for adoption! -Matt
