Fingerprint Update #4,829

Soooo....still no I-800A submission.

As I mentioned, I received our all clear letter from DHR last Friday....6 days ago. My expectation was that our homestudy agency would have received their copy the same day or the day after and Monday morning birds would chirp, bells would ring, flowers would bloom and we would have the completed home study in hand to overnight to USC*IS.

Yes. I have high expectations. And it is a looonnngg fall from way up there in high expectation land.

Our home study agency is an hour and a half away from me.

Did you know it apparently takes the mail 6 or more days to travel an hour and a half further down the interstate?

So yesterday since I was downtown anyway, I decided to pay a little visit to the friendly folks at DHR. I thought surely it's just another government office building, I can pop in, nicely ask for the person handling our file, respectfully ask if they can perhaps fax our agency's copy of the letter to them so we can get a move on, and then leave.

Well, let me just tell ya. DHR here....

it's like Fort Knox.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But hey, as we all know. Ain't nuthin standing between a momma and her babies.

So with my sundress and flip flops on I clippety-clopped my way down and around miles of marble floors in the biggest building I have ever seen before finally arriving at the information desk where, from behind bullet proof glass I explained to the receptionist the reason for my visit.

After producing my two forms of ID and submitting my urine sample I was allowed access into the great unknown.

And after going through 3 different people and 6 sets of locked doors I was told to give it one more day to arrive there(which would be today) and if it's not there then our agency can call and request it to be faxed and then they will drop another original copy in the mail.

So after all of that, I wasn't given the, "Ok, we will fax it right now!" answer that I was hoping for but I'm ok with that.

I have tremendous peace about this entire process. Only God can do that. Only God can give me that.

So I clippity-clopped my way out of that building feeling good. Knowing that I have done what I can do. And that is what is required of me. Yes I trust that the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth ordained this into our lives, yes I trust that He is waaaayyy bigger than any of these offices and agencies, yes I trust that it is all in His timing, so I know that I am to do my part and then get the heck outta His way so He can do His.

And if you have never witnessed God showing up and showing out. Wait until tomorrow when I share what happened to John yesterday.

Praise you Father for all You have done.
Matthew 6: 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
