Our Weekend

Catchin a little air
Catchin a little relaxation.
Ahhhh, such a great day! We headed out on our dear friend's boat on Saturday. We were going to go out on our imaginary boat but decided that their real boat would be more fun.

Jordan learned a little somethin new.
He went from this
and a bit of this
to this
And when you're 12,
that's cool.
Way cool.

It was the face plants at the end that prevented me from desiring to rouse myself from my shady position on the boat to give it a try.
So I didn't.
The smart people The rest of us stayed  with more tame activities

Tubing
Jumping off the boat
and pretending to be captain's of the ship.
Even if we all know who the captain actually is....
Captain Angie!
ok Jeremy, you can be captain too.
It was a great family-friend- fun day!

And then it was Sunday.
And we went to church this morning.
And I sinned.
Like sinned, sinned.

And only because my aim is to keep this journal of our lives real am I willing to confess this to you.
Whew.
Here it goes....I.....I.....
...I wore white sandals to church......
...in the deep, deep south...
after Labor Day.
I know.
I guess there is a little rebel within me after all.

But all shoe etiquette was soon forgotten because when I sat down and opened the bulletin here is what was staring back at me from the message notes.

Let's just say that all of that mascara that I applied before church...
was wasted.
....and was running down my face.
I looked a bit like I belonged in a heavy metal band....
one that wears white shoes after Labor Day.

  1. Looks like y'all had a great time on the boat!! I, also, like the 'tame' sport of sitting in the shade!! :)

Hey, that white shoes taboo is alive and well up here in the north(at least in my mind)....although I did let my girls wear their white shoes to church this morning....yikes!

  2. I knew as soon as I saw the shoes, hee hee hee. I thought that was an old fashion faux pas .. so I googled it .. I think you are okay, ha ha ha!

Looks like you guys had a wonderful weekend. Good call on the waterskiing.. it's not the falling that hurts so much (and it does more than it used to) but the it's the pain the NEXT day. ;)

Way to go Jordan - he looks like a pro!

    Praying boldly for those LSC's!!!!

  3. Sounds like a wonderful weekend, white sandals, dripping mascara and all.

Don't tell anyone, but I wore linen today, after Labor Day, too!

  4. Thank you for the laughs dear friend-- I'm not sure what I did for comic relief before I found your blog, but I sure do appreciate the giggle that you add to my day (or night as the case may be).

I would show you my weekend fun--but the fun is over and all I have left to show for it is an imploded house. Who wants to see that? Anyone? I didn't think so!

Good job on the white shoe confession. Honestly I think we should have let the "white" rule go at the same time we decided it was acceptable to wear flip flops year around--and with anything and everything!

Love the bulletin. Nothing like a great big hug from the Lord just when you least expect it, and just when you need it the most!! Oh how He loves us!

Praying this week brings you some Proverbs 25:25 . . .

"Like cold water to a weary soul
is good news from a distant land."

    Love and blessings~

P.S. Lovin' the SIX cute boys in your header (and your sidebar)!

  5. Love the pics from the lake. I too feel like a rebel in Hong Kong in my white sandals after Labor Day! And how about that bulletin. His timing is always perfect. I just love when He catches us by surprise!
    Love & Blessings,
