Things are not going well.
Without getting into details,
Joshua is very sick.
He is being expedited even further and will now fly home on Saturday.
They will/are in the middle of completing this adoption in 5 business days.
He picked up Joshua on Monday and his new CA is on Friday.
If you are in the Gainesville area and know of someone that speaks fluent Mandarin that would be willing to meet us at the hospital can you please email me?
We need an interpreter and I would rather it be a person and not the phone system the hospital provides.
We covet your prayers for our son.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
Oh Sonia..
ReplyDeleteOur prayers are with your family.

ReplyDeleteSonia~ I've been checking your blog all day to see an update! Know that I am praying with you! God is moving mountains for that sweet boy of yours... rest in the fact that He knows what He's doing! You're precious 7 year old is loved! We had a little scare with Rachel today when her oxygen levels did a little nose dive. We can do this, friend! I'll give you a big hug when I get to Gainesville!... (and I'll look into a Mandarin speaker as soon as we get home!)

Maybe give UF Chinese department a try-a professor might be willing or know of a student or TA who might?

Most faculty have their emails listed on the website:

We will be praying! We used to live in Gainesville while my hubby was at UF. Good idea about call the Chinese Dept. at UF. I have a friend who lives in Jacksonville who might be able to help.
ReplyDeleteIf the UF thing doesn't work out,
e-mail me, bgayman@sbcglobal.net, and I'll contact my friend and see what we can do.
Apparently many of us were on the same track - already called UF an hour ago, they are working on it and think they can help out! Also sent an email to a local Chinese church. This is the body of Christ working it for your sweet boy!! Continuing to trust in the God that laid this adoption on your hearts!
ReplyDeletePraying today for your family, Sonia.
ReplyDeletePraying, praying, knowing God has a plan, also knowing that trusting God's plan is sometimes tough--but it's what you have been doing all along--waiting for God to reveal His miracle!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for Joshua!
ReplyDeleteThankful they are coming home early! Have them keep the activity and excitement to a minimum. Everything low key and quiet. Buy chinese movies for the flight- let the airlines know when he is coming - he needs a wheelchair all the time.
God Bless You sweet friend- I know this is so hard...
Praying for your family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I am free all next week if you and John need a meal, a sitter or someone to help with laundry.
ReplyDeleteSonia, I'm praying so hard for Joshua, and for all of you. I can't help with the Mandarin and I'm nowhere near Gainesville so I can't even make you dinner, but I can pray and I have my bible study group here circling the wagons and lifting up your sweet boy.
ReplyDeletePraying for Joshua and your family, still believing God for a miracle on Joshua's behalf!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could offer more than telling you I'll be praying. However, I will definitely be praying.
ReplyDeletePraying for your boys in China and for God to send the perfect interpreter. Praying for you as well. God is in control!

ReplyDeletePraying here in Texas.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for ya’ll!!!!
ReplyDeleteWas out this morning, but got a text from Robin Haines to PRAY. Oh sweet friend, so many are lifting you up, so many are praying for your precious Joshua.
ReplyDeleteLord Jesus, hear our prayers on behalf of Joshua! Rescue him, Lord, swiftly. Thank you that You are moving mountains on his behalf, thank you that You will make the way. Thank you that the body of Christ is rising up for Joshua. Please Lord give Joshua peace during this time of upheaval, give him breath Lord, and keep his heart beating. Give Sonia and John wisdom and favor Lord. We ask that you would put every single person in just the place they need to be in over these next few days--government officials, flight attendants, doctors, nurses, translators, everyday people Lord who will be Your hands and Your feet, to Joshua, and John and Jordan as they make their way home. Father hold Sonia as she waits, give her peace in this storm Lord, and meet her practical needs as she takes care of the boys at home. Be with each of the boys and give them a sense of calm in their spirits Lord--even Jacob and Joey who may not be able to grasp what is going on. Oh Father, surround this family, and get Joshua HOME, we ask it in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
Continuing to pray!
Love from Texas~
Tina

We are praying for your sweet family and lifting you all up to our amazing and faithful Lord Jesus. We remember how it feels to be where you are. We live only an hour away and know Gainesville very well. -Have to throw in a little "Go Gators!" in there. :) We remember what it felt like to be away from home when our son was having surgery, etc. for his heart. We would be happy to help you in any way we can...meals, running errands, or getting anything you need. I know the ache you have in your heart and pray that you will feel peace and comfort. God is faithful and loves Joshua so very much! Please email me if we can do anything for your family.

Praying for your sweet son and for your entire family.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you and JJ.
ReplyDeleteOh Sonja...I didn't read through all the comments so if this is a repeat--please ignore. I know you know you can bring him to Boston. They are the best--seriously. There is an organization that will fly sick kids needing surgery for free--I honestly don't remember what it is called. If you want me to try to find it, let me know and I will see what I can find. It might be an option for Boston if you decide to come here. Praying for you all!
ReplyDeletePraying every day!!!
