It's glass on two sides which makes me feel a bit like I can now relate to the animals at the zoo.
It's loud which gives me a headache.
It has free coffee which helps with the aforementioned headache.
It has automatic sinks which tend to go off for no apparent reason
which was initially creepy but now I have decided it is the presence of the Lord here with us
and now when they go off I smile.
It is also where we currently store JJ's collection of Happy Goat characters.
Filling up a sink with bubbles and letting him play in it is great hospital room entertainment.
This is the TV whereupon we watch UltraMan.
Many
many
many
times a day.
This is my bed where I
I am just thankful to be allowed to stay with him.
I was incredibly nervous that we were going to be subject to strict visiting hours and such.
But alas, that is not the case.
Praise. The. Lord.
I cannot imagine leaving him.
This is our mess.
Because everyone loves a mess.
This is my Joshua.
I know you knew that.
But I am in fact shameless and will use any excuse to show you that sweet face.
This is the door to the adjoining room where I am hopeful they will put sweet Rachel when she gets here on Wednesday for her heart cath.
Rachel was adopted 5 days before Joshua.
We were intiallaly set to travel together but then we didn't.
And I'm still bummed about that
but so excited that I finally get to meet them tomorrow.
These two tiny Chinese Americans are going to take over the place I just know it.
And I know these kids are going to have one heck of a time hanging out together.
This is the view out of our window.
Stunning.
Or something like that.
And that concludes today's tour.
Please exit the ride to your right.
Girl,
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to read your posts again. So glad that things are going relatively well. Hoping you will get to visit the cafeteria soon or that someone will smuggle you in some food soon! Joshua is looking great. Yippee Jesus for the hopeful reports so far! Thanks for giving us the grand tour!
Hugs,
Robin
Hoping this means you are now plugged into the hospital Wi-Fi. So glad to here/read your sense of humor is still residing in your tired, sleepy self. Sent you emails with descriptions of what you mentioned. Can't believe you will have a friend there with you!!! When E had her surgery, a friend of mine had her little baby operated on the day we checked in. I got to be with her until the day before the surgery. Sure made the whole nerve-wracking thing MUCH better. Glad you found the coffee machine. Can't live without that stuff! Hugs all around. We here are all celebrating the "optimistic" news.

Make that "hear". Wish you were still "here".
ReplyDeleteYou'd better be saving that adjoining room for sweet Rachel!!! I'm thinkin' that might help us with a few cafeteria escapes!!! So.... what am I smuggling in on Wednesday for you??? Any favorites or requests??? Don't make me call your husband! :-)
ReplyDeleteLori
I'm so happy for you! I'm trying not to be fearful for JJ. God is greater than any silly heart defect. I am praying for your sweet family. Please don't stop writing. I have to know how this all ends. TAke care of yourself as well. You have to be strong to take care of all these wonderful boys. =)
ReplyDeleteWOW!! How amazing that Rachel will be next door!! Oh my goodness--wasn't aware of that. How incredibly awesome for your faithful families!!! Both of you better promise to blog:)

Ditto. It's like I am in the same room. Oh, wait. I am, just a few thousand miles away. Can the boys talk?
ReplyDeleteJ-Pete is back to himself and eating. Eating lots of chicken. Three kinds.
YEAH!! I can't believe the two children we have been praying day and night for are going to be in the same hospital and hopefully right next door! PRaise and continued prayers!
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived closer and could visit because you know I would!! Hugs to you and JJ, too.
ReplyDeleteHe is so sweet!!! How is the translating going?
ReplyDeleteLove "hearing" your voice again. So relieved that Mama is by J's side. Wishing I could pop in for visiting hours! Cannot wait to follow the link and read about Rachel. How great is our God to pair up you all as roommates? SImply amazing. Will pray for her as we pray for Joshua!
ReplyDeleteLove & Blessings,
Kim
