Merry China Eve!

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

This is really happening.

Breathe in.
pack.
Breathe out.
double check important documents.
Breathe in.
convince yourself the scale is broken and that your suitcases cannot possibly weigh that much.
Breathe out.
decide that kettle corn is not a necessary item and decide to leave it at home.
Breathe in.
ask yourself how on earth kettle corn is the only thing that you think is worthy of being left behind.
Breathe out.
realize you are a dork.
Breathe in
go clean up poor Justin and the bed after his marathon throw up session last night.
Breathe out
wait.....did that really happen? Was it just a dream?
Breathe in
nope. Not a dream. Bless his little heart.
Breathe out.
Ingest extra caffeine this morning and realize sleep is overrated.

Wait...now I feel dizzy.
I think all this breathing has made me hyperventilate.
Oh my.
Breath in
and hold it.

  7. You just brightened my morning! Love how you can make us all laugh out loud! Hope your sweet boy feels better soon (and no one else catches it). At least he is sick NOW, before you go! My daughter Anna got terribly sick during our trip--in fact, the first night with Lilly in our room she was throwing up all night long. There's a lot more to it (phoen calls from my husband's boss in the mioddle of thje night that same night)--it's a long story I'll have to tell you sometime...when we finally get to meet in person! SEnding hugs!

  8. Keep breathing!!! Kettle corn doesn't really weight that much, does it? ;) I hope everything goes well. What an exciting time for your family!!! Travel safely and enjoy these amazing new experiences!!! Sorry Justin's sick. We've had that going around (Matt last night and today), but I can't imagine it happening at a time like yours! So happy for your family!

  9. You can unpack heavy things like shoes. Who needs shoes. Just wear one pair. Unpack any heavy food, kettle corn is not heavy. You can buy food in China. How many bags are you taking? If you are not up to the limit, add a couple more bags. Spread things around. Your boys are big enough to pull bags. Next on the list of course would be clothes, leave clothes home. Who needs clothes...wait, no you have to wear clothes. :) I pray Justin is done being sick. I pray health and a trip without major problems. Give those boys a squeeze for me, all SIX of them. Love you!

  12. Ha!!! By the time you get to the airport you won't care what those scales say or what you have to pay to bring 'em, ha! ENJOY each and every moment in China. Savor each new adventure, soak up as much of the beautiful sights, architecture and history. It will be precious to you and your boys. Praying over your trip my friend. Can't wait to see you IN CHINA!!! You are bloggin here .. right ... tell me you are! Hugs to you.

  13. Prayers! I am so excited that you are leaving tomorrow! Hurray! Happy China Eve! :)

Praying especially for a healthy family to travel, for safe travels, and for Jacob and Joey's transitions.

Packing - I know you can do it! :) I think the downside of being a military wife - you learn how to pack so many things into small areas - now it weighs too much! :) LOL! Good luck! Remember - the important things will get there - you, your husband, and the boys! The important things will get back: you, your husband, and all 6 boys!!! :)

  16. Happy China Eve!
It's here, it's finally here!! (Throw up and all, unfortunately. Praying for an end to that!)

Oh sweet friend, look at all of the prayers going up on behalf of your traveling family-- and your boys waiting at the other end! So many love you and are ready to see you with your precious half dozen! The heavens are chanting, "Sonia, Sonia, Sonia"! Pack it in there girl, you can do it--even if you have to wear that monkey scrubber as a hair accessory, and stash the kettle corn in your back pockets! You can do it!!

    Praying as you go . . .

Father God we ask for safe and smooth travels, and for fun on the journey! We ask for rest and for peace and for health for all! Lord I ask that you would especially be with Jacob and Joey as their time finally draws near. Hold their little hearts in your mighty hand Lord, as they trade in their orphan titles for the new ones of "son" and "brother"! Be with them each and every moment Lord and help them not to be afraid. Be with John and Sonia Lord and give them wisdom day by day. Be with Jason, Jordan, Justin and Jack as they each take on a new roll. Lord We praise you for putting Jacob and Joey in a family, together! We thank you for putting them in this family! In Jesus name, Amen!

Love you Sonia, and can't wait to see you holding those babes!

  17. I'm sooo with you! I know I have to finish, but I'm so afraid I'm forgetting something important. Do you know how many times I've made sure we have our passports and visas (like they could have disappeared) and medicines and ....I think I need another nap. Wait..no time for that!

God is so good to bring all this together for your family. I am praying the Lord will give you all good health. So sorry to hear about the throw up.

Remember, in our weakness, HE is strong.

Cannot wait to hear how it all goes! Praise the Lord!

  23. SO looking forward to following along with you next week. I found your blog only a few months ago, I think through my friend Heather, and it's been SO fun to read about your excitement as the time drew nearer. And now here it IS! It's an amazing trip. One you'll never forget. And one you'll want to make again. Trust me. :)

  25. Wowwww! It's really here! Can't believe how excited I am...and I'm not even coming. It'll be like I'm there for all the time I'll be spending stalking your blog!
I think they divided the weight of our suitcases by how many of us could have brought a checked bag. So, we brought 5 checked bags, but there were 7 of us. They never made us pay or complained about how heavy they were (and they were way over the limits).
Praying for safe travels and a healthy family and great bonding and good weather and God's hand on the entire trip.
    Blessings,
    Monica

  28. Just thinking about you now as you (I'm suspecting) may be weighing suitcases again. Praying you can finish up and get some good rest, praying for safe travels, good health, and good family time. Other than my own LIlly, I don't think I've ever been so excited about someone's adoption before! Blessings to you all.
