Once my daughter is available I could get her to try to translate. She does have a hard time finding English words for the Chinese sometimes but I am sure she could give you the general idea. Lori
Yeah, once Abby is awake I can have her listen. Her Mandarin wasn't perfect but she knows enough, I think, to help you out some. She won't be up for another eight hours, though :( It stinks being on the other side of the world from you!
I can have the boys listen and tell me what they are saying when they wake up. They have had lots of practice translating for me....LOL...when they are talking to each other I was ask what they are talking about....I tell them it will help their English and they are eager to translate.
My thoughts? I can't wait for you to get there and scoop them up and love them and be their Mama and Baba FOREVER!!! Doesn't it just make it more real everytime you see new pics/videos!
Thanks everybody!! I would LOVE that! Maybe you could each post your kiddos version of the translation on the comment section and then I'll put em all together and we'll come up with whatever on earth Joey is so desperate to say! Yippee! Can't wait! Can I come wake up all your kids now? :)
Kayden says, The ayi is telling them to look at their stuff but then it needs to go back into the bag. Joey is saying, Is this form my mommy and daddy. Did they send this to us? The ayi then asks what time or day it is. This was Kayden's translation. I will be curious to see what others say. Lori
Oh what a gift it is to have a video of them. They are too darn cute!!!
Even as I sit here waiting for TA and as minute goes by without it knowing it lessen my chances of meeting you in GZ, I have to say I am soooo excited for you to be going and getting your boys in two weeks!!!!
My boys translated it to say....Joseph said that you were coming to China on the 15 and he was asking what was the date today. He was wanting to know how many more days.
Oh goodness! He's asking when his Mama and Baba are coming? He's asking if the gifts are from them? Be still my heart. How are you getting anything done today???
OH MY!!! That just totally made me cry... the look of hope in their faces... and excitement. THEY ARE ASKING FOR YOU!!!! I'm a total mess... crying like crazy. If I were you I'd just keep playing this video over and over. Heck... I'm not even their Mom and I'm playing it over and over! :)
Oh, I am so glad someone translated for y'all. I am a (VERY BEGINNING) Mandarin student, and I caught something about the time/day and I could NOT figure out what the first part was - and now I know the word for bag/ plastic bag/ whatever it was exactly. It was really hard for me because they talked so fast! But oh so fun for me to challenge myself, with the translation to help so I wouldn't get frustrated afterward. [And I heard lots of "hao" and "hen hao" (good and very good). That's good, right? *grin*]
Just read these comments. How cool that they are asking for you guys! Sitting here in my puddle of tears--so excited for them to meet you guys and feel loved by their family.

Jacob & Joey ~ Home January 27th 2011
Joshua 1:9
Joshua ~ Home September 24th, 2011 where he went directly from the airport to the PICU; blue and dying of an unrepaired heart defect. 20 days later he RAN out pink and full of life. I stand amazed.
Jason, Jordan, Justin & Jack ~ Home since they emerged from my loins on their respective days of birth.
I am a forgiven sinner madly in love with my Savior and mother to many somewhat smelly boys who recently returned from China with our two latest additions Jacob & Joseph. Orphanage mates from infancy, 7 months apart and teaching me daily what real love is. 3 months home with Jacob and Joey I found Joshua. Blue, sick, dying and needing a family. 4 months later he was home, healed and leaving me in awe of the healing hand of God. Glory. To. HIM.
