Wishing I Could Speak Mandarin Right About Now

All I caught in there was Baba Mama....thoughts anyone?
I may need to pay a visit to the friendly folks at our local Chinese restaurant again.

  1. Once my daughter is available I could get her to try to translate. She does have a hard time finding English words for the Chinese sometimes but I am sure she could give you the general idea.

  2. Yeah, once Abby is awake I can have her listen. Her Mandarin wasn't perfect but she knows enough, I think, to help you out some. She won't be up for another eight hours, though :( It stinks being on the other side of the world from you!

  3. I can have the boys listen and tell me what they are saying when they wake up. They have had lots of practice translating for me....LOL...when they are talking to each other I was ask what they are talking about....I tell them it will help their English and they are eager to translate.

  8. Kayden says,
The ayi is telling them to look at their stuff but then it needs to go back into the bag.
Joey is saying, Is this form my mommy and daddy. Did they send this to us?
The ayi then asks what time or day it is.
This was Kayden's translation. I will be curious to see what others say.

  15. Oh, I am so glad someone translated for y'all. I am a (VERY BEGINNING) Mandarin student, and I caught something about the time/day and I could NOT figure out what the first part was - and now I know the word for bag/ plastic bag/ whatever it was exactly. It was really hard for me because they talked so fast! But oh so fun for me to challenge myself, with the translation to help so I wouldn't get frustrated afterward. [And I heard lots of "hao" and "hen hao" (good and very good). That's good, right? *grin*]
